Dynamics 365, Set Up as One System Instead of Four Projects

Finance, supply chain, sales and service can all run on Dynamics 365 and share the same records. The value comes from wiring them together properly and connecting them to the Excel, Teams and Power BI your team already lives in. That is the work we do.

Why It Matters

Buying the apps is easy. Making them one system is the job

Plenty of businesses end up with Dynamics 365 licences and the same disconnected working they had before, because each app was rolled out on its own.

One Record, Not Three

The quotation your sales team raised becomes the invoice finance sends

When sales, operations and finance share the same customer, item and order records, the handover stops being a re-entry job. Nobody retypes an order into the ERP, and nobody argues about which system holds the correct quantity.

  • Customer and item master shared across apps.
  • Quote to order to invoice as one chain.
  • No duplicate entry between teams.

People Keep Their Tools

Adoption is easier when the work stays in Excel and Teams

A system people avoid is a system that fails. Because Dynamics 365 works with Excel, Outlook, Teams and Power BI, finance can work in a spreadsheet against live records and approvals can happen in a chat, so the change feels smaller than it is.

  • Live records edited from Excel where it suits.
  • Approvals and alerts inside Teams and Outlook.
  • Reporting in Power BI on the same data.

Which Apps

Start with what hurts, add the rest when it earns its place

You do not have to take the whole suite on day one. Most businesses start with one or two apps and extend once the first is steady and trusted.

A common rollout order
Phased
1Finance firstBooks, controls and close on a stable base before anything else moves
2Supply chain nextInventory, costing and procurement, once finance is closing cleanly
3Sales after thatPipeline and quotations feeding orders straight into operations
4Service lastCases and SLAs against the same customer and order history

FAQ

Microsoft Dynamics 365 questions

What is Microsoft Dynamics 365?
Dynamics 365 is Microsoft's family of business applications. Finance and Supply Chain Management handle accounting, costing, inventory, production and procurement, while Sales and Customer Service handle pipeline, quotations and support. They share one data layer, so a quotation, an order and its invoice are the same record rather than three copies.
How is Dynamics 365 different from Business Central?
Business Central is the all-in-one product for small and mid-sized companies, quick to deploy and lighter to run. Dynamics 365 Finance and Supply Chain Management is built for larger operations with several entities, complex manufacturing or heavy compliance needs. We help you pick honestly, because putting a business on the wrong one is expensive in both directions.
How long does a Dynamics 365 implementation take?
A Sales or Customer Service rollout is often live in two to four months. Finance and Supply Chain Management for a single entity usually runs six to nine months, and a multi-entity programme with manufacturing typically runs twelve months or more, depending on data quality and integration scope.
Does it work with Excel, Teams and Power BI?
Yes, and that is often the strongest reason to choose it. Finance teams can work in Excel against live records, approvals and conversations can sit in Teams, and reporting can run in Power BI on the same data, so people stay in tools they already know.
Can you migrate us from our current system?
Yes. We map your existing chart of accounts, customers, suppliers, items and open transactions, clean and de-duplicate them, reconcile the opening balances, and usually run a parallel close before switching over so the numbers are proven before you depend on them.
What happens after go-live?
We stay on as your support team: day-to-day issues, help through the first close cycles, new processes as the business changes, testing against Microsoft's release waves, and training for people who join later.

Dynamics 365 Capabilities

What Is Inside a Dynamics 365 Engagement

The difference between a Dynamics 365 project that lands and one that stalls is usually scoping, data and adoption. Here is how each of those is handled, and what continues once you are live.

Core Services

From choosing the right apps to running them well

Scoping and Configuration

The right apps, in the right order, configured to your processes

We start by mapping how you run and matching that to what each app genuinely does, including saying when you need fewer apps than you were planning to buy. Configuration then follows standard capability, with your entities, approval limits and rules built in.

  • App selection based on your processes, not a licence bundle.
  • A phased order so each go-live settles before the next.
  • Standard configuration before any custom work.

Data and Integration

Clean records in, and everything else connected

Customers, suppliers, items and open transactions are cleaned, de-duplicated and reconciled before they are loaded. Then we connect the rest of your estate: banking, tax filing, warehouse and plant systems, portals, and the Microsoft tools your team works in daily.

  • Opening balances reconciled and signed off.
  • Excel, Teams, Outlook, SharePoint and Power BI wired in.
  • Third-party integrations with retries and visible logs.

Adoption and Support

Training, first closes, and a team that stays reachable

Your people test their own processes before go-live, and we run the first month-end cycles alongside them. After that we continue as your support desk, handling issues, new requirements, and regression testing against each Microsoft release wave.

  • Role-based training with written process notes.
  • First close cycles run together with your team.
  • Release-wave testing so updates stay uneventful.
