Methodology and assumptions

How the score works

Each question has four answers scored from 0 (not in place) to 3 (well established). Questions are grouped into five areas of three questions each: process clarity, data quality, people and change, systems and integration, and sponsorship and budget. The overall score is the percentage of the 45 available points.

Bands: below 35% not yet ready; 35 to 59% building foundations; 60 to 79% nearly ready; 80% and above ready. Recommendations are listed for every answer scored 0 or 1, lowest first.

Why readiness matters

Most ERP delays come from unclear processes, poor master data, no business owner and unrealistic budgets, not from software limitations. Closing those gaps before kick-off lowers cost and risk regardless of which platform you choose.

Frequently asked questions

What does ERP readiness mean?
It is how prepared your processes, data, people, systems and leadership are to implement and adopt an ERP successfully.
What is a good readiness score?
Above 60% means you can plan an implementation now. Below 35% suggests groundwork first, such as documenting processes and cleaning data.
Can I start ERP selection with a low score?
Yes. Selection and gap-closing can run in parallel, but fix sponsorship, ownership and data issues before kick-off.
Is my data stored?
No. Answers stay in your browser and the share link encodes only answer choices.
How often should I reassess?
Repeat after closing the main gaps, and again before vendor contracts are signed.
